Understanding what your trees need, and what they don’t
A Tree Condition Survey provides a thorough assessment of a tree’s health and structure, looking at both physiological condition and potential structural concerns. The aim is to give you an honest, informed picture of what is actually going on with your tree, and what, if anything, needs to be done about it.
The survey examines visible indicators of health and structural integrity at ground level. Where more information is needed to make a properly informed assessment, a climbing inspection may be recommended to examine the upper crown at close range. Any findings are considered in the context of practical management options, with the emphasis on retaining and improving trees wherever it is reasonable and safe to do so.
A Tree Condition Survey can also be used to fulfil your duty of care as a tree owner or occupier under the Occupiers’ Liability Act 1984, providing a defensible record that your trees have been assessed by a qualified consultant.
